The 3 C’s of Growing Through Facebook and LinkedIn Groups

If you are actively working in or on social media, raising your profile and influence is essential for meeting your goals (sales, contracts, etc.).

And one of the tactics for meeting your goals is your involvement in Facebook and LinkedIn groups.  However, what no one wants is for someone in these groups to constantly say, “Buy my book, program, or _________.”

So, how does one’s involvement in these groups help in any way?

I faced that conundrum until I figured it out, and I discovered the answer:  Just be a regular person having regular interaction with others.  Once I did that, my connections and influence grew.

Towards that end, I’ve come up with the 3 C’s of growing through Facebook/LinkedIn groups.   They are:

Comment

Contribute

Connect

To explore that further, here are the 3 C’s with a few more details.

Comment on other people's posts – Respond to what others have to say, and please do more than just one-word responses.  The kids call that dry texting.  If you like something, let folks know, and then let them know why you like it.  People will appreciate it.

Contribute thoughts and posts yourself – Do you have something interesting to say (and more than just buy my stuff)?  Then contribute.  Create posts that invite others to respond with their thoughts and opinions.  Folks will look forward to your posts when you do this.

Connect with members outside of the group.  After you have commented and contributed, connect with other members of the group.  Like or follow them.  Again, don’t do it just to pitch your product or service.  Like and follow to genuinely like and follow them.

Doing this is going to help you grow your influence within LinkedIn/Facebook groups.  I hope this helps!
