Don’t Skip Thanksgiving Marketing

Halloween is over, and the holiday season is here.  However, many businesses make a crucial mistake this time of year:  they skip Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas.  Don’t fall into that trap.  Take advantage of every cultural opportunity to grow your practice.  Here are a few tips.

Decorate for Thanksgiving:  Thanksgiving is an easy transition if you already decorated for Halloween.  Simply remove the “scary elements” and add in fall colors, cornucopias, and anything that goes with your pre-existing décor.  Even if you didn’t decorate for Halloween, a trip to the dollar store will more than provide you with the materials you need.  Just make it creative.  Make it your own.  Just don’t make it boring.  Customers and patients will be comforted by the welcoming atmosphere.

Offer Thanksgiving Specials:  People are in the mood to shop when they go out in November.  They are geared and ready to pull out their wallets and purses.  Offer discounts on materials, and if possible offer discounts for services.  Begin offering gift cards.  Connect those specials to your thankfulness to them.  They are what make your business thrive.

Involve Your Customer/Patient Base:   Ask your customers to share something that they are thankful for in return for a discount or a 2 for 1.  This gives them a sense of joy to share, and gives you an opportunity to partner with them personally and business-wise.  Maybe create a board that allows people to write their thanks for everyone to see.  Whatever you do make it personal and fun.

Whatever you do, just don’t do nothing.  This is a tremendous time of year.  Don’t waste it. Make active marketing part of your overall plan for growing your business.
